An afternoon departure from the Strip, three hours inside the park and the last light of the day watched from Rainbow Vista.
Updated 22 October 2026
Departure moves with the season. Winter pickups run 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. and the tour itself starts at 1:30 p.m.; in summer pickups are 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. start. Either way the group reaches the sandstone in the afternoon, when the light is already low enough to work with, and three of the five hours are spent inside the park.
The last stop is Rainbow Vista, one of the higher points reached from the park road, where the group stays for sunset. Day use in the park ends at sunset, so the drive out starts straight afterwards; the park sits 55 miles north-east of Las Vegas, about an hour each way off Interstate 15 at exit 75.
The tour runs daily all year except Wednesdays and Fridays. Two park rules shape the plan: drones and other remote-controlled aircraft are banned, so bring a camera or a phone, and the whole park closes for maintenance from 1 to 14 December each year, which in 2026 means Tuesday 1 December to Monday 14 December, with normal operations resuming on Tuesday 15 December 2026.
All fees and taxes are covered, and water, chips and snacks travel with the vehicle. Pickup and drop-off are at hotels on Las Vegas Boulevard, from Mandalay Bay at the south end of the Strip to the Stratosphere at the north end; off-Strip addresses are not served.
Five hours from pickup to drop-off, three of them inside the park, with all fees and taxes, water, chips and snacks covered. The operator does not run on Wednesdays or Fridays.

This is the only departure on this site built around the end of the day. The small-group half day tour, 6 hours from $99, covers the main roadside stops in daylight and includes park admission plus a deli sandwich lunch, which makes it the straightforward choice for a first visit; the private hiking and sightseeing adventure, 6 to 10 hours from $180, puts the stop list and the pace in your hands and works well for families and photographers who want longer at each formation. The helicopter option is a 1.5-hour flight rather than a day on the ground.
